Luxurious Stay
Date:September 16, 2010
Together with my wife, we flew to Melbourne for a romatic weekend. The Crown Metropol was magnificent and still looks brand new. The Buffet Breakfast in Gordon Ramsay's Restaurant downstairs was an incredible way to start each day. We ate at the Crown Casino each night, but only because you have to book in advance to eat at Gordon Ramsay's Restaurant, which we will ensure we do next time. The rooms were very clean (and my wife is very fussy!) and more importantly they were quiet. You can catch the tram almost at the front door and everything else is very close by and in walking distance. We would definitely stay at the Crown Metropol again and would probably even bring our kids next time. Our advice would be to book through Jetstar Holidays, as a flight/hotel package, otherwise booking the hotel separately was way too expensive!

Very glamorous, but best suited to casino visitors
Date:July 29, 2010
My wife and I live in Melbourne and had to move out of home for a few days whilst we had some renovation work done on our house. We decided to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury and stay at the newly opened Crown Metropol.
The hotel and the rooms are stunning with wonderful views. Everything is brand spanking new as well which helps. Even the carpets still have that "new carpet" smell. The highlight for us was an evening at Maze, the new Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Melbourne. The food was excellent as was the service. We got talking to the wine waiter and he offered to take us back of house after our meal and give us a tour of the kitchens, which was fascinating.
The only slightly negative comment I would make is that this hotel is not designed for staying in your room. They want you in the casino, the shops, the various eateries, or the spa. As such, there is a limited selection of TV channels, with no movies. Also the internet connection was very expensive. A minor and understandable quibble.
All-in-all, a very nice hotel indeed.

It was a great feeling to be in the hotel. It feels like i am on top of everything. The facilities are mind blowing. It is one of greatest combination of modern art work, the natural sunlight and the natural beauty view i have ever seen. Its one of my favorite hotel with beautiful views.

Simple Exciting Inviting

This hotel has everything. Beautiful artwork, amazing sculptures, mood lighting in the hallways, amazing patterned carpets, an amazing restaurant with a menu to match and facilities from here to next week. I would highly recommend this for travellers of all ages. The rooms are very modern and have all the mod cons for the tech savvy or travelling business person.
What an experience

Luxury, Simplicity, Minimalism
Date:March 9, 2010
You can keep your opulent pillars, grecian-roman-regal fittings and gaudy gold trimmings- Crown Metropol is a miniminalists dream!
Far from basic or plain, the hotel has modern, quirky edges (I love how the luxe rooms are not matchy-matchy. I like things a bit off centre when it comes to interior design.) There is a darkness to the hotel which to me, reads luxury but in an understated way. Like a deep brown Birkin bag. I'm particularly interested in the isika (ishika?) new spa- a holistic new beauty centre. Apparently visiting holistic health experts and yoga classes are pencilled in along side the mani-pedi-massage-vichy shower etc etc.
For my money. for my experience, I loved the look of Metropole.
It is international standard, beautiful and exciting.
Looking forwward to another sneak peak when Gordon Ramsay's restaurant opens there end of next month.

Metropol will exceed expectations
Date:March 9, 2010
I travelled to the Metropol on a Industry introduction to the hotel before the property opens in May. The property really adds the icing on the cake for all of Crown Industries and adds another level of accomodation for travellers to the Southbank area and Crown Casino Complex. The whole hotel is brand new and is designed in a very complex way that makes it look like it never ends and there is always something more exciting to find around every corner. The rooms are of quality size for value and can accomodate very almost any party of travelers and families.
The Pool is the highlight for me which is located on level 27 and has an infinity edge so you feel like you can become a part of the Melbourne Skyline.
Another top highlight of this property is Maze Restaurant that has the menu designed by Gordon Ramsay and is a pleasent dining experince for platter tasting and also a full seated grill experience.
All together Crown Metropol Will exceed all expectations of the priviliged guest who experience this proptry first hand and we can see the proptery being the stand out jewel in the "Crown Industrys" crown.

This hotel is 5 star that offers something new for guests that have stayed at a Crown hotel and are looking for something modern and stylish.
A new urban day spa and pool has a prefect setting on the 27th floor.

Beautiful hotel with Melbourne at your fingertips
Date:March 9, 2010
One of Melbourne's newest hotels, this is part of the Crown hotel complex and you are just a few steps away from the dining and gaming Mecca of Melbourne. Brand new hotel so the rooms are nice and fresh, design has a Japanese feel to it so very special. Beautiful day spa on site and the pool has amazing views.
Gordon Ramsay's new restaurant Maze is also in the hotel!

Stunning New Hotel
Date:March 9, 2010
This hotel hasn't even opened yet but I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak while they finish it off (no i don't work for them). While they obviously still have a bit of work to do to finish before it opens in May, you can see already this will be a Melbourne icon in the very near future. The pool is on the 28th floors with views to over the Docklands, and the rooms are very modern with 50's retro style timber furniture, open bathrooms, funky decor and all the mod cons. Design of the building and the artwork are also impressive. I also got a look at the Maze restaurant (the new Gordon Ramsey enterprise) and sampled some food. While only a small taste the restaurant was very stylish. It would've benefitted from being on a higher floor to get the views but then it's to be open to the public as well so can understand it's position on the 1st floor. This hotel will suit people more inclined to contemporary luxury, compared with Crown Towers which is more glitzym and Promenade which is simpler. The Metropol wins for me.
